  • About Us

We are husband and wife studio potters and educators working to bring an appreciation of the ceramic arts to our community through gallery representation and creative clay classes in our fully-equipped ceramic arts studio.

    Our Designs

We primarily create functional kitchen and serving pieces meant to be used and enjoyed for a unique hand-made, table wear experince. Since we both enjoy cooking and entertaining, we devote a good deal of attention to how our ceramic aesthetic can enhance both the presentation and enjoyment of food. To satisfy our desire to work on a grander scale, we also enjoy collaborating on large-scale one-of-a-kind sculptures that can provide an interesting visual stimulus to one's surroundings.

    Our Materials

All of our functional work is microwave, oven and dishwasher-safe made from durable stoneware clay and glazed with food-safe glazes that we mix from well tested glaze recipes. We enjoy exploring new glazes and so our palette tends to evolve over time as we discover new effects and color combinations. Our sculptural pieces are constructed from a terra cotta clay made from a mixture of finely ground red and buff clays suitable for both interior and exterior display.

    Our Classes and Workshops

Pamela is a veteran High School Art Teacher and Bill retired several years ago from the American Ceramic Society where he was the editor of Pottery Making Illustrated, a magazine for studio potters. We both received a Bachelor of Fine Art from the State University of West Georgia and The Ohio State University respectively. Together, we bring many years of experience with and of clay in a fun and creative schedule of classes that will engage and inform beginners and all clay enthusiast. Beginning in September 2016 we started our two-hour afternoon and evening workshops focusing on a specific technique or object to make; we also offer Monday wheel classes as well as independent work sessions designed for the creative folks who have some clay skills already or just need more time to explore some of the many possibilities clay has to offer. For more information there are several options: Stop by the Studio, give us a call or Oh,Yes! like us on Facebook- Better yet, do all three. Sieze the clay and fire on!
